At Dear Dot Studio, we believe great work begins with mutual clarity and respect. These terms are here to outline how we work, what you can expect from us, and what we ask in return. They-re designed to support a smooth and transparent creative process - so we can stay focused on what we do best: designing with care
Service Scope
We offer surface design, print and pattern development, brand identity, and creative consultation tailored for apparel, home, lifestyle, and stationery brands. Our services include: - Custom print design - Seasonal range planning - Trend and concept development - Licensing (ready-to-use artworks) - Visual identity and brand language - Artwork adaptation for fabric and paper All project details - including specific deliverables, timelines, and rights - are agreed upon before we begin.
Project Terms
Projects begin once a signed agreement and 50% advance payment are received. This secures your project slot and allows us to begin development. We work collaboratively, and all major deliverables or concepts are shared for review. Two rounds of reasonable revisions are included unless otherwise agreed. Any changes to the brief or direction after the project starts may affect the timeline and pricing - we-ll always communicate these clearly before proceeding. Final files are delivered upon full payment. If a project is paused or cancelled, the client will be invoiced for work completed up to that point.
Intellectual Property
Once the final payment is received, the rights to the final approved designs are transferred to the client as per the agreed terms. Dear Dot Studio retains rights to: - Showcase completed work for portfolio and promotion (unless restricted by NDA) - Retain ownership of unused concepts, sketches, and early drafts Custom licensing or exclusivity terms can be arranged separately if needed.
Payment Structure
Our standard terms are: - 50% advance before project start - 50% due upon final delivery Invoices are due within 7 days of receipt. Delays in payment may impact delivery timelines. Additional services or out-of-scope requests will be quoted separately
Timeline & Communication
We share a clear timeline at the beginning of each project and do our best to stay on schedule. We ask for timely feedback so we can keep things moving smoothly. Communication will typically be via email, unless another platform is mutually preferred. We believe in open, respectful dialogue - and we-ll always keep you in the loop. Each project includes up to two rounds of revisions unless otherwise specified. We welcome your feedback - but any additional edits, alternate versions, or direction shifts may be billed separately based on time andscope.
Confidentiality
All files, concepts, and internal discussions are treated as confidential. We will never share your brand-s information, designs, or project details publicly without permission.
Termination Rights
Either party may end a project with written notice. If terminated, the client is responsible for paying for work completed up to that point. We-ll always do our best to wrap things up professionally and respectfully.
Liability
We take great care in delivering original, production-ready work. However, Dear Dot Studio is not liable for any loss, error, or issue arising from the use or reproduction of final files. We recommend clients review and test all designs before printing or production. Final approval and legal compliance are the client's responsibility.
